Saturday with the big sis: Egg Harbor Cafe
On Saturday, Jenny and I hit up downtown Naperville for some shopping. We started off the day with brunch at Egg Harbor Cafe.
In true form to my current obsession with poached eggs, I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. I took one look at the description and didn't bother to read the rest of the menu. Poached eggs over fried stuff? With bacon? Oh yes.
On a side note, I've realized that the poached egg pictures are kind of getting out of control. As in, "Wow, this girl really likes poached eggs. WTF?" I'm aware of this. It's becoming a problem that I have no intention of fixing. Hey, I warned you. And now...the eggs:
Jenny got the Egg-ceptional Combo, a plate that included a mini skillet (which she ordered with mushrooms and eggs over easy), banana french toast, and fresh fruit. A perfect combination of sweet and savory.
I'm not crazy about sweets for breakfast, but that french toast was frickin' good. Especially after a big bite of skillet. I might have to order the Egg-ceptional Combo next time.
Jenny took pictures of her own food with her own camera because she, too, appreciates a good dose of food porn when it comes her way. Although I believe she's more of a yarn porn addict when it really comes down to it. Serious knitter, that girl. We're kind of dorky when it comes to this kind of stuff. And here's the proof:
Jenny taking a picture of me taking a picture of my food. Notice the woman in the background staring at us like we're crazy and weird. She has no idea.

I was there Saturday morning, too! And my brother LOVES that fried green tomato thing.
ReplyDeleteHaha that's so weird! I love that place -- haven't been in a while but will definitely be going more often now! Maybe I'll see you there next time...
